The blushing palette of topaz is like the heavens at sunrise; all hues of yellow, gold, honey, orange, cognac, red and pink. It can also occur in both colorless and bi-colored forms. Gem lore claims that “imperial topaz” was coined in 19th century Russia to denote very fine gems reserved for royalty.
